The Hoopsgiving Tournament in Roxana continues tonight.  The Main Gym will see Marquette and Wood River followed by Roxana and Jerseyville.  At the Jr High it’s Civic Memorial and Southwestern followed by Freeburg and Staunton.  Last night, Centralia opened up their season with a 57-17 win over Staunton and will return to action tomorrow against Freeburg.  Also last night, Gibault beat Jerseyville 49-33, Carbondale over Civic Memorial 48-45 and Gateway Legacy over Wood River 57-36.

Tonight at Christopher in first round action, Marissa/Coulterville plays Webber followed by Waltonville and Zeigler Royalton.  Last night, New Athens beat Thompsonville 53-38 and Christopher over Odin/Patoka 71-60.

In 1st round play at Cumberland, Newton and Vandalia play at 6 followed by North Clay and Cumberland at 7:30.  Last night, Casey beat Okaw Valley 64-34 and Dieterich fell to Marshall 73-57.

In pool play at St Anthony, Belleville East takes on Effingham followed by Robinson and Champaign Central and then Mattoon and Breese Central.  Last night Breese Central beat Champaign Central 66-41 and St Anthony routed Rantoul 73-43.

In opening round play at Elverado, Pope County takes on Crab Orchard followed by Elverado and the JV from Murphysboro.  Sandoval dropped their opener to Galatia 59-54, Carterville JV beat Agape Christian 58-17.

In pool play at Mulberry Grove, Father McGivney opens the night with CHBC followed at 6:45 by South Central and Lebanon and then Ramsey and the host Aces.  The SC Cougars opened their season last night with a win over Father McGivney 30-27 with Markley and Bergmann scoring 12 each in the win, St Elmo/Brownstown beat Ramsey 69-32 and Mulberry Grove over Mt Olive 81-44.

Tonight in pool play at Wesclin, Christ Our Rock takes on Nashville at 6 followed by Mater Dei and Columbia.  Last night, Christ Our Rock stayed with Columbia trailing just 26-22 at the halftime break but the Eagles held on to win 59-44 and Wesclin beat Mater Dei 59-51.
