Provided he is ready to go after three months off Let’s Go Hugo is a major player having been in good form over C&D when last seen. Thismydream is a solid each-way shout, despite his poor strike-rate, but the vote goes to SPANISH ANGEL who is 2lb lower than when winning over C&D last summer and ran much better than his finishing position would suggest on last month’s return.

A market move for the returning Billiegee or Rocket Warrior should be noted, as with Kaaress who bids for a course four-timer after 160 days off. However, the vote goes to ETRETAT who made a promising handicap/AW debut when third over C&D last month. That form has already been boosted and he looks the type to keep on improving. Last month’s C&D winner Dream Selection is also on the up and may pose the biggest danger.

It’s hard to oppose PRINCE MAXI who was so impressive when beating Parramount over a furlong shorter here last month. He has the penalty to carry, but likely has much more improvement left in him and is bred to appreciate the extra furlong. Parramount is 7lb better off than his old rival, but it’s hard to see him narrowing the gap to any great degree, so the main danger may come from Aerospace. He makes his stable debut after 23 months off, but showed ability when in the frame behind some high-class opponents, in both starts for the Gosdens.

Trois Blancs wasn’t beaten far when among the favourites on his handicap debut here early in the year and has been found a weak race under Champion AW Jockey elect Rossa Ryan, but he’ll need to be sharper at the stalls coming down in trip. Several others are completely exposed and it might be worth taking a chance on JOONS DREAM, who hasn’t looked without hope in the maidens this year and should appreciate the stiffer test.

Dr Foster and Tasmanian Legend each have the course form, but they face a couple of progressive fillies in Completed and COCKTAIL DRESS (nap). Both appeared to appreciate the step up in trip when winning over 1m on their latest starts and they remain open to further progress on their handicap debuts. However, unlike the former, the selection has a couple of recent runs under her belt and that gains her preference.

Having tumbled down the weights over the winter, MERRY MINISTER has bounced back to form since upped to this sort of trip and is fancied to see off old rival Baileys Warrior on the same terms from Lingfield early last month. Prince Abu and Stolen Encounter have the ability to win off their respective marks, but both come with risks attached.

Plenty are in with a shout. C&D winners Racing Country and Malacanne bring solid credentials to the table and in-form pair Sea Of Charm and Lunario (second choice) need factoring in too. However, the vote goes to ENZOS ANGEL who made a winning start for Neil Mulholland over C&D before going too freely up in trip here last time. He can now bounce back in style.
