Manchester City are set to suffer disappointment in their pursuit of Valencia youth talent Jaume Dura, who will renew with the Spanish side.

According to AS, Manchester City are one of the sides set to lose out on Jaume Dura. The Spanish prodigy will sign a new contract with Valencia and stay at the club to aid his development, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also among those set to miss out on the talent.

Valencia to extend Jaume Dura stay

Valencia continues to produce some of the best talents in Spanish football and already has a footballer who is considered a generational talent in Jaume Dura. The 16-year-old has been impressive in their youth ranks and has already attracted significant interest from elsewhere.

Valencia has struggled financially in La Liga and has continued to sell some of its top talents on the cheap to balance its books. It has also offloaded many of its promising youth talents over the years, as speculation pointed towards a potential sale of Dura as well.

However, it appears that they are keen to keep the 16-year-old for the future and are expected to renew his deal at the club. The player is well-equipped to make the grade to the first team sooner rather than later, and Valencia does not want to lose him now.

As per the rules, they cannot offer more than a three-year deal to players under the age of 18. This means that if they tie Dura down to a new contract, he will be free when he turns 19. However, there are further expectations that if the prodigious talent makes the grade near the first team, they might sit down again to likely extend his stay.

Manchester City to lose out on Dura

Manchester City were one of the clubs looking to bring Dura for some time now. The Premier League giants have built a solid foundation with their youth system and are one of the few clubs with a separate budget to sign emerging talents for their academy.;

While they have the lure, Dura will likely stay put at Valencia. Barcelona and Real Madrid were also keen on the 16-year-old, as the Spanish giants, alongside Manchester City, are set to lose out on signing the prodigious talent in the upcoming summer.
