It is always good to start off a new week with a winning day. We nailed both side plays, but came up short on the prop. I love it when my Kings are money, but I guess they did too good a job defending Brandon Ingram. As for the Hawks, they disappointingly lost outright even though they were up 13 points at the end of the first quarter. We still cashed though.
We are deep into conference tournaments this week for college hoops. To be honest, for betting hoops this might be the best week of the year in terms of quantity and quality of action.
Tonight we have eight NBA games to attack. It is too bad all of this Ja Morant messiness is taking away from the Grizzlies’ trip to L.A. Plus LeBron is still hurt. I am not sure there is a marquee game this evening.
NBA Sides: 40-31-1
NBA Props: 21-16
Winning Days: 24 (of 37)
In Review: Monday, March 6
Atlanta Hawks +2.5 (win) The number is always the thing. The Hawks kept it close but you might have got a push here depending on when you got in.
Sacramento Kings -6 (win) I did not realize how big a Kings fan I have become. They got a comfortable win against the weakened Pels last night. (I should probably stay off them for a week, right?)
Brandon Ingram Over 37.5 Points Rebounds and Assists (loss)
I thought he would have more opportunities. Something was off with the Pelicans last night (see above). I thought he would overcome it win or lose.
NBA Picks for Tuesday, March 7
Orlando Magic +2 (vs Milwaukee Bucks)
This line has moved five points with Giannis and Jrue Holiday out this evening. The move is well justified and I would have loved to get the Magic before the news hit, but now I like the home side. Paulo Banchero had no chance against Giannis in earlier games but against a diet of Bobby Portis he can do alright and the Magic’s limited backcourt does not have Holliday to contend with at either arm. The Bucks are willing to punt the game so hopefully, we can take advantage.
Detroit Pistons +10 (vs Washington Wizards)
This is another line with some movement that we can actually take advantage of. The Pistons are now a double-digit home underdog and worth a shot. I am not loving backing a couple of bad teams tonight, just following the value. Detroit is undermanned but their effort is still good and Kyle Kuzma looks like he is going to miss the game, drastically influencing the offensive ability of Washington. This one could be tight and low scoring. Plus you might be able to buy out a small profit in the first half if Detroit starts strong.
Walker Kessler Over 5.5 Rebounds
This number feels too good to be true. The rookie is averaging 8 rebounds per game in just over 22 minutes of action and has at least 10 in 6 straight games. There might be some extra juice on this at this number so run to the window. His points look good tonight too, also at 5.5. Kessler seems to get better and better with every minute played.
