Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –

Arsenal have held discussions with Nico Williams’ about a possible move to the Emirates during the summer transfer window

A lot has happened since Nico made his league debut just over two years ago. Last season, he scored nine goals and provided six assists in 43 games in all competitions.

He also made his senior Spain debut and has really developed into one of the most exciting attackers in the Spanish League this season, and his performances has led to alot of speculation in recent months that all the big clubs are very interested in getting a transfer deal done

Arsenal have sounded out Williams after deciding to up the ante in their pursuit, according to GMS sources, and they are seriously considering triggering the £43million release clause written into his Athletic Bilbao contract.

And amid all the speculation – Former France midfielder Emmanuel Petit, who played for ARSENAL FC as well as Barcelona, rates the 11-cap Spaniard as one of LaLiga’s hottest talents.

Real Madrid and Liverpool have been tipped to launch summer approaches for the 21-year-old.

But Petit, 53, recently told Football Betting: “Would Nico Williams be a good fit at Arsenal? Absolutely, he’s been one of the best young players in Spain this season.

“He’s got five goals and ten assists already this season. He’s fast, powerful and always runs towards the goal and facing defenders with great skills and dribbling.

“He can play on the right or left and every time I watch Athletic, they always give him the ball because he’s so good at facing two defenders.

“He’d be a very good addition to any team as his skills are devastating. I love players who are always provoking defenders.”

DO ARSENAL NEED WILLIAMS?

The lad is a special talent that is making all the right noises in the game – but he does not need to move yet and should stay at his current club as he is playing the football that he needs to develop.

W are sure that Mikel Arteta knows what he wants – but Williams is a player that has shown no real desire to leave Bilbao at this stage of his career.

TIERNEY COULD QUIT –

Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney has suggested he may never play for the club again in his latest transfer hint.

After months and months and months of speculation, ARSENAL allowed Tierney to leave for Real Sociedad after making the decision that he would not be part of the plans this coming season.

The Scottish International has had a decent time over in La Liga – but his time there is almost up and there has been alot of speculation in the media about his long-term future at the Emirates.

Now – Tierney has come out and revealed that he may never play for Arsenal again – and admitted that he would be open to leaving the Gunners should that be an option for him in the transfer window.

“There is every chance,” he informed The Athletic when quizzed about whether he had already played his last match for the Gunners. “Look at the squad depth in that position now. They have [Oleksandr] Zinchenko, [Jurrien] Timber, [Takehiro] Tomiyasu, [Jakub] Kiwior. Four players can play there. So if I go back and it’s the same as before then I’m not silly, I know the chances are I’ll be leaving.

“But you never know in football. You get the rare case with [William] Saliba, where he came back after a couple of good seasons [out on loan]. But you don’t see it too often with someone who has played for four years, left, and then come back to play again.

‘Stranger things have happened. I could go back and there is a place for me. So I’m prepared for both.”

Tierney is a solid defender and a player could add some depth to that ARSENAL side if needed – but there will surely be a few clubs interested in him over the summer window and the Gunners could use the money to help improve the side in other areas.

ARSENAL FREE TO SIGN ONANA –

Everton director of football Kevin Thelwell has told the likes of Arsenal that players like Amadou Onana will be on the market this coming transfer window.

Some big names have been linked with a move to ARSENAL – but so have players like Onana – who is highly-rated in the Premier League and a man that is tipped to depart the club when the summer window opens up.

Now – amid all the speculation and rumours – director of football Kevin Thelwell has admitted that he may have to sell some of their big players in the transfer window: “It is also important that I am completely candid with you,” Thelwell said in a statement.

“The reality is, given the regulations in place and the Club’s current financial position, we have to trade well. Working within such tight financial parameters makes the job extremely difficult. Whilst we want to ensure the team is as competitive as possible, we cannot lose sight of our central objective to protect the long-term stability of the Club.

“That does mean players will be sold, and also that every tool at our disposal will be used to secure new additions to the squad, including utilisation of the loan market. Both Sean and I understand the responsibility we have – and that is a responsibility which has to be our priority.

‘That may not be exciting to hear but, under our current circumstances, it is the right thing for Everton.”

Mikel Arteta knows the type of players that will help him take ARSENAL forward and we are certain that Onana is a man that would add some force to the midfield.

He could be a very good addition to the side.
