The Community of Madrid is preparing its latest grand opening which will further improve the already impressive leisure offering in the region. Oasiz Madrid, located in Torrejón de Ardoz, will be added to a long list of large shopping centres in the region, where the focus is being put less and less on just shopping, and more on experiences and unique leisure activities. Oasiz Madrid, Madrid’s newest shopping centre, will even have its own beach. We have all the details.

Oasiz Madrid opening on 27th October 2021

Originally due to open on 30th September, Oasiz Madrid will now open its doors to the public one month later on 27th October 2021. The centre, formally known as Open Sky, underwent re-branding after the health situation caused the original opening in 2020 to be delayed, and the decision to further delay the opening is due to supply issues.

“Many suppliers have expressed their concern about the difficulties they are encountering in terms of transport and supply of materials. They have therefore asked us for a short postponement of the opening date to ensure that, once the deliveries have been made, the operators have enough time to finish the work on their stores, which is still progressing”, explains Raphael Martin, president of Phalsbourg

The largest artificial beach in Europe

The centre, promoted by the French Compagnie de Phalsbourg and designed by the Italian architect Gianni Ranaulo, will be home to over 200 shops, 7,000 parking spaces, a gym, a co-working space, light shows and other never-before-seen spaces and activities such as lakes, waterfalls, climbing areas, zip lines, go-karts…the list goes on. One of the most talked elements of Oasiz Madrid is its beach club and beach which is said to be the largest artificial beach in Europe

Commitment to sustainable development

The centre is also highly committed to sustainable development, with over 7,500m2 of solar panels, while the water in the lakes will be constantly reused and purified.
